As Mandela Day 2023 approached, our CareTeam launched a heartfelt initiative: The BookBound Project. In collaboration with ‘Feed a Homeless Homie,’ we identified local rural communities yearning for the magic of books.
Our goal was to collect 670 books for donation, symbolising the 67 minutes dedicated to improving lives on this meaningful day. Through the spirit of ubuntu, we far exceeded our target, gathering 1,360 books.
From childhood favourites and inspiring biographies to captivating novels, most of these books found new homes in Somalia Park and other surrounding communities, bringing the joy of reading to many.
