Role:
INVENTORY CLERK

Role Overview

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels, and ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly documented. This role supports efficient warehouse operations by performing routine audits, reconciling discrepancies, and coordinating closely with warehouse staff and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to the SOPs and work instructions, to improve delivery efficiency.
• Ensure inventory tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
• Ensure proper labelling, storage, and organization of materials.
• Support shipping and receiving activities when needed.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of goods to prevent damage and ensure compliance with safety, quality and environment regulations.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits using SAP and WMS systems.
• Conduct spot checks and resolve discrepancies, ensuring all distributed products meet saleable and quality conditions.
• Communicate inventory-related issues or concerns with relevant departments.
• Responsible for packing and assembling products or kits as required
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations within the inventory warehouse department.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment; manage waste responsibly.

• Follow all safety and organizational protocols
• Identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with internal departments to implement best practices and enhance operations.
• Maintain accurate operational records and submit regular KPI and SLA reports to the Inventory Team Leader.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory using inventory management systems.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications
• Minimum (required): Matric Certificate.
• Preferred: National Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree will be advantageous.

Experience
• Minimum (required): 1 – 3 years in Inventory Management / Procurement experience.
• Preferred: SAP experience will be advantageous.
• Proven experience in the medical industry.

Competencies

• Strong knowledge of warehouse processes and Inventory systems (e.g., RF scanners, WMS).
• Align all distribution department activities with the Genetic Code, Vision and Mission statements.
• Proficiency in both written and verbal communication is essential for interacting with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
• Capability to stand, bend, move and lift products throughout the warehouse during working hours.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
• To be adaptable and willing to take on different tasks and navigate changes and collaborate effectively with others.
• Familiarity with common office software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant programs.
• Willingness to collaborate, quickly grasp new information, share ideas, and contribute to the success of the team.
• It is essential for accurate inventory management, order fulfilment, and logistics coordination.
