In January 2024, Vertice celebrated the achievements of its Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Project, launched in 2023. This pivotal initiative has transformed the lives of eleven young patients through essential medical interventions. Since its inception, the project has expanded its reach to communities in Welkom, Bethlehem, QuaQua, and Kimberley, raising awareness about CHD and providing vital support.
This year, Vertice’s team celebrated CHD Awareness Week at various hospitals with impactful activities. At BARA, staff members wore sponsored red scrubs, while at Steve Biko Hospital, patients received printed stickers. The team treated two pro bono cases at Zuid Afrikaans Hospital in collaboration with the Operation Healing Hands (OHH) Initiative.
Additionally, Vertice made significant contributions during CHD Awareness Week. At Ethikweni Hospital, the team provided brochures, cookies, and cupcakes, while at Red Cross Hospital, cookies were distributed. At NMCH’s Fun Day, Vertice represented the organisation with a gazebo, brochures, and stickers, contributing to the event’s success.
