Last year marked a major milestone in a young patient’s journey toward improved mobility, as she underwent a bilateral adductor release and lower limb Botox injections — a procedure that made walking more comfortable and confident.
In April 2025, the patient returned to Life Healthcare Eugene Marais, where a specialised surgical team led by Prof. Ruan Goller and Dr. Helené Basson performed a bilateral medial hamstring release along with a left distal femur lengthening osteotomy — the next step in helping them walk with greater ease.
We’re proud to have played a role in making this life-changing procedure possible through the ongoing commitment of our Orthopaedic Division. Stories like these highlight the power of innovation, expertise, and care in transforming lives.
